Pat Stein

Pat Stein has been meditating for over thirty years. His teachers have been very ecumenical, including Buddhist monks from Thailand, Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan. He has also had instruction from a Hindu Swami and a professor of comparative religion. Pat spent a number of years studying with a Chassidic Rabbi, as well as attending many seminars and retreats. For the last three years he has been working with The Carol Simon Cancer Center in Morristown, teaching cancer patients, caregivers, and staff how to meditate. He has given various workshops to interested groups and during the past year has led meditation groups and workshops at The College of Saint Elizabeth.

 

Classes Pat Teaches:

Meditation

We will practice what is known as concentrative or pointed type of meditation –what Buddhist call shamatha of samaidhi practices. In this practice we concentrate on our own sensibilities, enabling us to promote calmness, relaxation, focus, and a higher sense of awareness.
