Classes Dominic Teaches:

“Facts and Fun of Fiction Writing.” We explore the basic creative writing techniques which bring inner discoveries of the author to the minds of readers. The conventions of fiction writing which will be discussed include: the mechanism of inspiration, voice, effective and relevant description, the structure of plot, the development of theme, dialogue, characterization and arc, the effects of points-of-view, and the nuances of phrasing and rhythm. The course consists of lectures and workshops. Students are encouraged to read their writing to the class and accept peer critique.
